A Tiny Step with a Big Impact
Did you know you can now make precise movements? By pressing the 'L' button, your character will straighten up and hop! Holding 'L' while moving lets you move exactly one tile at a time in the four cardinal directions. This is perfect for those finicky rock-hitting angles or item placement outdoors. You can even use this new movement while holding tools! And the best part? It's available right from the start of the game!
Crafting from the Comfort of Your Home
Crafting has gotten a serious upgrade. You can now craft and cook items using materials stored in your home storage. If you haven't touched a crafting table since the 3.0 update, you'll get a notification about this. The game will prioritize the materials and ingredients in your pockets first, followed by those in your home storage. This is a game-changer for bulk crafting! Note that you have to craft while still on your island.
Pocket Camp Goodies for Everyone!
Did you miss out on the Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp fun? No worries! You can now get items previously exclusive to Pocket Camp players through the Nook Shopping terminal and app. You'll find them in the Promotions section. Here's what's available:

While we could always place items on the pier, the DIY Requests donation box gives us a real reason to. You can set up a crafting area with a Mini DIY Workbench and a Compact Kitchen, a Storage Cabinet, and even a Mario Warp Pipe to connect to Nook's Cranny. Try it yourself!
More Neat Surprises
Here are some other rapid-fire updates we spotted in the 3.0 patch notes:
- Pascal now guarantees a Pearl the first time you give him a Scallop each day. That's potentially two Pearls!
- Seasonal items like Snowflakes can now be sold in the drop-off box at Nook's Cranny.
- You can purchase up to 50 Customization Kits at once from Nook's Cranny.
- When changing the island flag at Resident Services, you can now revert it to the original design from when the island was created.
- When changing the island tune at Resident Services, Isabelle will now suggest recommended melodies, including the original island tune.
- Super Mario Bros. items can now be ordered from Nook Shopping without linking to a Nintendo Account.
- You can now ask Leif to remove weeds when there are 30 or more weeds on your island, either on Harv’s Island or during his visits. The fee has also been reduced from 100,000 bells to 60,000 bells.
