SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA -- Giannis Antetokounmpo had a stellar performance, scoring 37 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, as the Milwaukee Bucks secured a 115-98 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night. This win marked the Bucks' fifth in their last seven games.
Antetokounmpo's shooting prowess was evident, as he made 13 out of 17 field goals and 11 out of 13 free throws in just 31 minutes of play. Kevin Porter Jr. contributed 25 points and 10 assists, while Myles Turner added 15 points to the Bucks' total. On the other hand, Russell Westbrook and Zach LaVine scored 21 and 20 points, respectively, for the Kings, who have suffered five consecutive losses.
The Bucks' lead was solidified in the second quarter when Antetokounmpo scored a layup, and A.J. Green successfully converted a technical foul shot, extending their advantage to 62-42. Antetokounmpo dominated the first half, making 6 out of 7 shots from the field and all three free-throw attempts, resulting in 15 points.
The Kings' performance took a turn for the worse in the second quarter, dropping their shooting percentage to 26.1% and scoring only 18 points. Despite trailing by 24 points in the third quarter, the Kings mounted a strong comeback, going on a 29-8 run that was capped by a basket by Drew Eubanks, narrowing the Bucks' lead to 88-83. However, Milwaukee responded with an 18-5 run, including two free throws by Antetokounmpo, ultimately securing the victory.
LaVine returned to the court after missing the previous nine games due to a left ankle sprain, but he was not part of the starting lineup.
Looking ahead, the Bucks will face the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, while the Kings will host the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night.
